The Harnish Law Library subscribes to a variety of online databases to assist faculty, students, and staff with their legal research needs. On this blog we will highlight some of the helpful electronic resources available to you as a Pepperdine Law student.
Our first spotlight e-resource is Bloomberg BNA. Bloomberg BNA includes over 100 online newsletters that provide news and analysis in a wide range of practice areas, including:
- Corporate Law
- Criminal Law
- Employment and Labor
- International Law
- Health Care
Bloomberg BNA resources are invaluable for tracking and staying up-to-date on specific legal topics. One popular BNA resource for law faculty is U.S. Law Week, which can be found under the “Litigation” category on the Law Library’s Bloomberg BNA page. U.S. Law Week spotlights significant cases and key legal developments from across the country. Aside from news and “BNA Insights” (articles authored by practicing attorneys), users can track developments and filings in the U.S. Supreme Court with U.S. Law Week’s Supreme Court Today feature; view a monthly compilation of circuit splits on current legal issues; access helpful research materials including federal rules and recent case law; and more. To begin browsing Bloomberg BNA newsletters, visit the Law Library’s Online Databases page and click on Bloomberg BNA, then enter your Wavenet ID and password to access a list of BNA resources by category or by title. Users can sign up for regular email updates to individual BNA resources.
