Ed Larson Receives Friend of Darwin Award from the National Center for Science Education

On November 14, Dean Paul Caron presented Professor Edward Larson with the “Friend of Darwin” award on behalf of the National Center for Science and Education. Professor Larson received this award for his immense contributions to the teachings of evolution and climate science.

NCSE Executive Director Ann Reid writes:

It gives me great pleasure to tell you that the Board of Directors and staff of NCSE have selected you to receive the 2017 Friend of Darwin award. It would be hard to think of anyone who has contributed as much as you have to the study of creationism as a historical and social phenomenon, especially with regard to its career through the courts. As a laudably objective historian, your work has been invaluable to NCSE in its efforts to defend the integrity of science education against creationist onslaughts.
