Professor Jack J. Coe, Jr. has been appointed by the US Department of State to its Advisory Committee on Private International Law. A preeminent scholar in the field of international commercial arbitration, Professor Coe also serves as the Faculty Director for the Straus Institute’s LLM concentration in the same area. Professor Coe consults regularly with foreign governments and multinational corporations in relation to commercial and direct investment disputes under existing treaties, and he is on the arbitration panel for the American Arbitration Association and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution.
On Wednesday, March 20, School of Law Dean Paul Caron, Associate Dean Tom Stipanowich, Straus’ Managing Director Sukhsimranjit Singh, and the Straus staff gathered to recognize Professor Coe’s appointment. Professor Coe shared his insights on the Committee’s work and also expressed his delight about sharing this honor with his colleagues and students. In the past, Professor Stipanowich had also held an appointment on very same US State Department Advisory Committee on Private International Law.
