Tuition Benefit:

Effective Fall 2018, MSU Denver will pay full tuition costs (Undergraduate) for benefit eligible employees, their spouses, and eligible dependents. Benefit eligible employees will receive up to 9 credit hours per academic semester of fully paid tuition. Spouses and eligible dependents are allowed up to 12 credit hours per academic semester of fully paid tuition. Student and book fees are not paid for.

As a part of Student Engagement and Wellness at Metropolitan State University of Denver, the Dean of Students Office is committed to student safety and wellbeing by fostering a university community of integrity and respect. The Dean of Students Office is committed to integrating restorative practices into the student conduct and conflict resolution processes. The office houses student conduct, student conflict resolution services, coordinates the CARE Team (behavioral intervention team), provides case management, manages Title IX cases with student respondents, oversees the Roadrunner Food Pantry and provides generalized support and referrals for students in crisis. The Coordinator for Student Conflict Resolution Services is an integral part of the Dean of Students Office team and assists with triage and referrals for students in various circumstances. This position is responsible for assisting with conflicts between students and student groups/organizations. The Coordinator is responsible for assessing, mediating, and resolving student to students conflicts using resolution techniques, including restorative practices. The Coordinator also provides education, workshops, groups and coaching for students in the conduct process and adjudicates academic integrity cases. The Coordinator maintains positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty members on-campus and is an expert on student rights, responsibilities, appeals, and other University policies. This position reports to the Associate Director for Student Conduct.


35% – Assess, mediate, and resolve student to student conflicts using restorative practices for a variety of reported concerns. Refer students to other resources or processes in order to address their concerns at the University.

20% – Develop and facilitate a variety of workshops and trainings to students, faculty, and staff on campus. Presentation topics for students will review Dean of Students Office functions, conflict styles, group dynamics, conflict resolution practices, decision-making, values, and more. Facilitate groups, classes, and coaching for students in the traditional conduct process. Will give presentations to faculty and staff on Dean of Student functions and may work with the University Ombuds on other presentations.

20%- Will adjudicate academic misconduct cases in consultation with faculty members.

10% – Will, in collaboration with the University Ombuds, recruit, train, and involve students in conflict resolution practices, peer education, and promotion of community standards across campus.

10% – Triage, refer, and support students who make contact with the Dean of Students Office. Collaborate with office team on a variety of administrative functions, outreach, relationship building, assessment projects, and other duties as assigned.

5% – Collaborate with the University Ombuds for conflicts involving students and faculty or staff. In the absence of the University Ombuds, this position may assist with a variety of conflicts or projects, as needed.

  • Earned Master’s degree in conflict resolution, higher education administration, college personnel, social sciences, law, psychology, or related field.
  • One or more years of full-time work experience related to conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering outreach materials, programs, trainings and presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Prior experience facilitating restorative justice practices. Must be trained as a mediator or be willing to complete this training within 6 months of hiring date (minimum 40 hours of verifiable training).


  • Experience with student conduct and mediation in an educational setting.
  • Case management and referral experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience with assessment of programs and services.

The starting salary for this position is $ 49,128.The final salary will commensurate with experience and education.
